Hatha Yoga Flow

Hatha Yoga is a Mindful, lightly flowing class that focuses on building strength, flexibility, breath work and meditation. In class, the key elements are basic poses and transitions that allow students to build body awareness and confidence. Hatha flow brings yoga back to the basics, encouraging all levels of yogi’s to build a foundation, strengthen their alignment, continue on their yoga journey, and to simplify their practice. All levels are welcome.

 TG Drop In Pickleball

Open play for all skill levels and any level of experience. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 10:00am - 12:00pm. $5 per player per day, please pay at the office. Members only, purchase membership online, or at the office.

There are 3 nets, and plenty of players each week. Indoor sneakers only, please! Paddles available for rent. 

 

 

 

 

Calgary Pickleball Club

 Monday's and Wednesday's 12:00pm-4:00pm

Thursday's: 1:00pm-4:00pm

$5 per player per day, please pay at the office.  

 

Come and join our pickleball group at Thorncliffe. We have about 65 competitive players who gather each week from places as far away as High River and Red Deer to play competiitve pickleball on 4 indoor pickleball courts. We have space for 24 players for each session during the week. If interested visit Calgary Pickleball Club for more info and to join in.

 

 

 

Racquetball

Racquetball is a great way to get your heart rate up, stay fit, and get out and meet new people! The leagues are on Monday & Wednesday of each week from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm (depending on how many players sign up (sometimes there is a 4:30 start time).

 

Some players only play Mondays, some only play Wednesdays, but a lot play both nights. The cost of each league is $110 plus $10 for snacks & prizes on each windup night (for a total of $120). There are three divisions on Mondays (A1 – Advanced, A2 – intermediate & B1 – beginner to intermediate). Wednesday has the same three plus and additional one for elite players called A1 Plus.

Sit and Be Fit

 

Come and challenge yourself in a gentle and effective way!

This class will increase your strength, you'll learn stretches and create balance in both your body and mind while combining a fusion of general exercise, Pilates and yoga.

 

Monday sessions will take place from Sept. 16 to Nov. 25. No class Oct. 14th on Thanksgiving Day and no class on Nov. 11 for Remembrance Day. Monday classes are 9:30 am-10:30 am.

 

Thursday session will take place from Sept. 19 to Nov. 28. Thursday classes are 10:30 am-11:30 am. No class on Oct 24.

Thorncliffe Greenview Women's League

 

 

To provide fellowship and recreation for the ladies of the Thorncliffe Greenview Community Association. The TGWL started in September of 1976, with far more members than there are today. Some of our projects over the years have come and gone, while some are still very successful.

 

Current Projects

  • Wine & Cheese Party - started in 1978
  • Fall Craft Fair - started in 1986
  • Mother's Day Tea - started in 1994

Past Projects

  • Bingo Canteen - ran canteen from 1977-1983
  • Exercise Class - ran from 1984-1996
  • Spring Bazaar - ran from 1993-1996
  • Friday Night Dances - ran from 1996-1999

We lend our many hands to Community Children's Parties, funerals for Community Members, TG Winterfest, and we run the canteen for a TaeKwon Do tournament that runs in May. From the money we raise, we donate to Community groups to help with their projects. As you can see we keep very involved with the Community and we are all very proud to belong and have a Community as great as ours.

Thornview Seniors

Thornview Seniors Community Association +55.

 

The Thornview Seniors are situated within the Thorncliffe Greenview community complex. We offer many different activities such as cards, pool, bowling to name a few. The Seniors group offers friendship, a chance to learn new skills and be more active, and an opportunity to learn more about the community at large. Come out and explore what we have to offer you. The Booster Club meets typically once a month and discusses future community involvement. If you are interested in joining this dedicated group of volunteers please contact the admin office at 403-274-6840.

 

 

Adult Volleyball

 

  • You must be 18 years of age and up to play
  • 2 of the opposite sex per team
  • We have 3 leagues: Monday night Intermediate, Wednesday night Recreational, Thursday night Competitive
  • League starts September 8, 2019
  • Play is at 8:30 pm and 9:45 pm, some nights, you play both times
  • Half of the team needs to be CA members
  • Each team does one volunteer bingo or gun show (one player)Fees include 20 nights of volleyball, 2 – 3 weeks of playoffs, a two-day tournament, t-shirt, and a windup dinner, dance, awards trophies, jackets for first and second in your leagueFees are based on the number of teams in each league, 8 teams, 9 teams, 10 teams
