Thorncliffe Greenview Community Association COVID-19 Protocols and Policy Agreement for Community Leagues and Programs
The pandemic has affected most people in one way or another, and at the TGCA we want to be considerate of each of our guests’ and member’s situation and circumstances. Your team or classes’ safety and well being is of great importance and without mitigating the risk to your fellow players or participants, we cannot effectively safeguard everyone who visits the facility.
Please remember that these protocols are all that stands between a good time at the community centre or being at the centre of an outbreak, and if you need to take additional time or steps to make everyone safe, that is your responsibility.
With this is mind, we have developed these policies for the players and participants in the TGCA leagues and programs to adhere to while on the TGCA premises. Please review all policies, assuring that you understand and agree.
Upon clicking the “I have read and agree to the website Terms and Conditions,” you are releasing the TGCA, Board of Directors and its employees from any liability due to COVID-19. Responsibility falls upon each person who enters the facility. All patrons who wish to enter the TGCA during the declared pandemic has the understanding of the increased risk of COVID-19. You will enter our building at your own risk. We encourage each group to pass on this information to its participants for review. TGCA has implemented the policies recommended by Alberta Health Services (AHS) to maintain safe operations, additional janitorial staff has been hired and booking durations have been reduced to allow our staff to disinfect as per the COVID-19 guidelines.
The Thorncliffe Greenview Community Association (TGCA) has implemented the following COVID-19 policies for all guests to adhere to while utilizing the facilities herein.
EVERY PERSON THAT ENTERS OUR FACILITY MUST DO THE COVID-19 SELF CHECK TEST.

TGCA strongly recommends that all facility users download the AB TRACE TOGETHER Application https://www.alberta.ca/ab-trace-together.aspx. The application can potentially help Albertan’s if they are or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19.
The TGCA requires the TGCA league participants and/or program participants to follow these guidelines to mitigate the risk to fellow players, participants, instructors, staff and other TGCA visitors:
- As mandated by The City of Calgary, beginning Aug. 1, 2020, all program participants, players, coaches, parents, staff and other visitors to the TGCA MUST wear a mask while inside the facility, the only exemptions being while participating in physical fitness activities or eating/drinking in designated areas.
- Wash or sanitize your hands when entering the building. There are multiple sanitizing stations and washrooms available for this use.
- Arrive and depart in a timely fashion, and do not linger in common areas.
- When your designated league time slot has concluded, maintain a 2 metre distance from others whenever possible, and particularly when exiting the gym and building.
League and class participants are to follow the guidelines and instruction of the league leader and/or instructor, and observe protocols put into place for their particular program, sport, facilities and league.
If you don’t understand any of these guidelines, please speak to your league leader or instructor to clarify.
Online Refunds: If you have paid for your program online, you may cancel online up to two days before the class begins for a full refund. However, a refund will not automatically be issued, and TGCA staff will review your cancellation before issuing a refund. When a refund is approved, it will be put back onto the account that you used to pay online.
Closure contingency refunds: In the event that a citywide closure order of recreation centres is issued due to COVID-19 concerns, the remaining balance of your subsequent classes from that date will be refunded to you using the payment method you originally used for registration of the TGCA program. The TGCA will honor refunds to participants who request them and they will not be automatically issued to all participants.
The TGCA thanks all participants and players for their attention to and observation of these terms and conditions.
